What is Digital Grandparents?

Digital Grandparents, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation committed to providing older adults with access to the wonders of computers and the Internet. Our programs seek to open up the world of Internet communication, social media, news and information, online shopping and games, photo-sharing and editing, and more to the growing segment of older adults who struggle with or wish to improve their skills with this new technology. We hope to help them enrich their lives by enabling them to connect with people and explore the world from their living room chairs.

Group and Individual Tutoring

Through our volunteer network, we provide workshops at community centers, senior centers and facilities for older adults at all skill levels. These can be in group or individual sessions.

Donations

We accept tax deductible donations both online and through the mail. Checks should be made payable to “Digital Grandparents, Inc.” and mailed to Digital Grandparents, Inc., 122 White Mills Road, Chatham, NY 12037.

Volunteers

Volunteering to teach older adults about computers and the Internet through Digital Grandparents, Inc. is an excellent opportunity for community service programs in colleges, high schools, religious institutions and the like.

“Our residents at Camphill Ghent have had the pleasure of working with a tutor from Digital Grandparents for the last 6 months. This program has given them the opportunity to learn about the use of computers and other digital tools. This has been a mutually wonderful experience for our residents and the tutor. The 1-on-1 work has given our residents great confidence in subjects that before were a great challenge to them. The tutor’s patience, interest and understanding of the topic has been of great value and most appreciated by all our residents. We strongly recommend working with Digital Grandparents as they offer an invaluable service for our elder population.”
